Unique Business/Job Opportunity
Wind, Water and Wheels
I am looking for someone who has a passion for the outdoors, especially interested in non-motorized paddling sports; specifically kayaking and paddle boarding. Experience would be helpful but more important is the desire to experience the sport and pass it on to others. Equally important is an interest in pursuing a career and growing a business in the Whitefish Area. I am looking for someone who is energetic, creative, outgoing and eager to share knowledge and engage customers and the community. It will require a desire to learn, the ability to pay attention to detail and the energy and forethought to work efficiently. I own a locally made kayak company and a retail outfitting store in Crosslake. I bought the kayak company 7 years ago and have had the retail store for 6 years. I have worked hard during this time to grow the volume of business and also grow our influence and reputation in the community. In the past I have managed this with some part time help in the summer. However, I have reached the point where I would like my next employee to be someone who would want to make a career out of it and be willing to take the business to the next stage. This would involve buying into the business over the next couple of years. I am willing to work with and train the right person. This will obviously have to be a good fit for both of us. I take great pride in our products, service, customers and community. I want to pass this on to someone who has or develops the same passion. Specific tasks include but not limited to: assembling kayaks, ordering parts and inventory, in-store sales, customer service, transporting kayaks, boards and other items, transporting people, instructing customers and public in the use of equipment, representing the business to the public, office and computer work (we have 2 web pages, we are on social media and we maintain a paddling club with a membership of over 180) , cleaning, organizing and restocking store, training in employees if needed, making and taking phone messages, paying bills, exploring the river and lakes in our area, guide customers and paddlers on the water, instruct people on the issues of safety etc. If this sounds like something you or someone you know might be interested in please give me a call. Thanks, Jim 612-581-2144.
