Snowmobile restrictions lifted on Paul Bunyan Trail. The Brainerd DNR Parks and Trails office announced that the signs prohibiting snowmobiles with metal traction devices from using the trail have been removed on the south end of the Paul Bunyan State Trail. Studded snowmobiles now are allowed on any stretch of the trail from Brainerd to Bemidji.
French Rapids: February 14 - After a 2 inch snow fall, all skate lanes and tracks re-groomed. Good place to ski this weekend in the Brainerd area.
Northland Arboretum: February 17 – Conditions: Groomed and new tracks set Monday after about 4 inches of new snow. The new snow covered the oak leaves well and there was little wind with this snowfall so no new leaves in the tracks yet.
Wolf Lake: February 12 – Trails packed and all tracks set.
Gull Lake Drifters: February 25th - Gull Lake area trails are in very good condition and are being groomed regularly. Be careful on lakes. Ice fishermen often plow out to their houses and leave large ridges which can be dangerous. The east side of Gull Lake in the 371 area has several of these ridges.
Merrifield Marathons: February 24th – Recent snowfall and cool temperatures have been good for snowmobile trails. After grooming today Merrifield snowmobile trails will be in excellent condition.
Baxter Snowmobile Club: February 24th – All trails are groomed and in excellent condition.
Garrison Commercial Club: February 24th - Garrison groomer is broken down. Other clubs are assisting on trail grooming but it will take a longer time.
Ideal Sno Pros: February 25th - The snowfall last week has been great and our trails are in very good to excellent condition. We are grooming the Aspen and Stewart lake trails all the way to the dam, but be careful because there are active logging operations on these two trails.
Sno Serpents: February 14th – The snow serpents will be finishing up their grooming as of Friday morning and all trails are in good condition. Over the weekend our groom are operators intend to do some grooming at night, the CI loop trail and the Riverton Trail will be groomed again on Saturday night, and the Emly/Outting and Crosslake trails on Sunday night. So be careful if you are riding those trails on that night.
Brainerd/Pequot Lakes: February 20 - The Paul Bunyan State Trail at Pequot Lakes is groomed and in excellent condition, with a 6 inch base. There is 19 inches of snow on the ground. Conditions for other area snowmobile trails range from good to excellent. And area cross country ski trails are mostly groomed and in great shape.
