Let's Talk at the Zoo!

Come to Safari North Wildlife Park in Brainerd, MN for a day filled with language, communication, learning, and of course..AMAZING ANIMALS!
The Speech Cabin is partnering with Safari North to provide an enriching opportunity for families to explore the zoo while using alternative methods of communication.
If your child is nonspeaking, has limited verbal skills, has a speech/language delay, or is a unique communicator, this event is for you!
Some highlights include:
🦜Speech-Language Pathologist volunteers stationed around the zoo to assist families with using core boards, or their child’s communication device/system
🦒See the new large communication board that was recently installed!
🐒Use a small zoo-themed communication core board to enhance and support vocabulary and language skills during your visit!
🐅Participate in the “Core Word Scavenger Hunt”
🦥Digital Interactive Story Time using GoGo Speech targeting zoo vocabulary and core words with Ms. Amy: 11am, 1pm, 3pm
🐫Learn animal-themed sign language!
🦓Connect with other families in MN with unique communicators
🐢Best of all- get up close and personal with MANY fantastic animals! Feed a giraffe, touch a tortoise, be surrounded by parakeets, pet and feed the farm animals, ride a camel, see a rhino up close, ride on the safari train alongside zebras, emus, and more!

Note: Safari North is open 9am-6pm; however most of the event activities will take place between 9am-3pm.
