Description
Take a walk in the woods with us!
Join Northland Arboretum board member Bryan Pike for a guided 2.4-mile hike as part of the Minnesota Forestry Association’s first Great Minnesota Woods Walk, with walks planned statewide!
Follow maintained trails through wetlands and a 75-year-old red pine stand that has been thinned three times. Learn why thinning is done and how it supports forest health.
We’ll also walk through a section of The Nature Conservancy property where a prescribed burn took place in 2025, discuss its purpose, and see the results firsthand.

Parking: Drive into the Arboretum’s gated area and follow signs to parking near the Nature Playscape.
Bring your curiosity, wear comfortable hiking shoes, and join us to explore and learn!
This is a FREE opportunity!
