and Taste of Pequot

celebrating the end of a busy summer!

Enjoy strolling through the Trailside Park in the heart of
Pequot Lakes and observing the bountiful array
of hand-made crafts.

Get those taste buds ready for the many 
local flavors catered to you from local restaurants!

Sit down for a spell and listen to our local music talent.

Taste of Pequot - an Event for ALL of your Senses!

 NEW FOR 2011... RESTAURANT TAILGATE COOK OFF!

• Local restaurants will get their game faces on for some friendly tailgate cooking competition
• Game whistle will start the competition at 10 a.m.
• Three judges (Chef Tom Kavanaugh, BL Broadcasting's "Stella" Kim Watson, and TDS Telecom Representative Shannon Zook) will taste test and declare the winner at 1 p.m.
• Awards for Judges Overall Choice (based on Taste, 50%; Appearance, 25%; and Originality, 25%), and "Team Spirit"

THE TAILGATE COOK OFF IS OVER.  THE TOP NOTCH JUDGING PANEL HAS VOTED. CONGRATULATIONS TO LAKES LATTE FOR WINNING THIS YEAR'S COOK OFF!

Event Timeline: 
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.        Craft Fair - Local crafters and artisans will selling their items. Great gifts for the upcoming holidays!

10 a.m. - 3 p.m.      CLIMB Across Minnesota Theatre - Creative Ideas for Mind and Body "Effective Education. Exceptional Entertainment." Winner of the 2009 Sara Spencer Award for Artistic Achievement in Educational Theatre. 15 minute performances will be on the hour in the north of the band shelter along the walkway.

10 a.m. - 3 p.m.      Restaurant Tailgate Cook-Off Competition and Food for sale - Cheer on your favorite restaurant team.  Winner will be announced at 1 p.m.

• Mayson's Grille - Rueben Sandwich, Turkey and Cranberry Wrap, and Chicken Wild Rice Soup
• Lakes Latte - Breakfast Sandwiches, Scones, and Coffee in the morning. Primerib Wraps in the afternoon.
• Tasty Pizza North - Mini Cinnamon Rolls, Hot Chocolate, Chili and Pizza
• Timberjack Smokehouse & Saloon - Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich and Sweet Petite Treats
• BeanBagen - Biscuits and Gravy in the morning, Pig Wings, Smoked BBQ Chicken Legs, Jumbo Shrimp Basket, Pork Chop on a Stick, Cowboy Bites, Curly Fries, and Deep Fried Brownie Bites
• Antlers -  BBQ Ribs served with the award winning Demon Pig BBQ sauce and Chicken Wild Rice Soup                      

11 a.m. - 2 p.m.      Dave Herzog - Live Steel Drum Music in the band shelter on the north side of the Trailside Park.

12 - 1 p.m.              Judging of the Tailgate Cook-Off Competition

1 p.m.                    Judges Choice and "Team Spirit" winners announced
