It's time to dig out Thor, Big Bertha, Ole, Sven, Lena and Baby Olga for the Pequot Lakes Bean Hole Days celebration July 9-11. It's a time for thousands to gather as they share a free lunch of baked beans, a dinner roll, and a glass of lemonade. The fun begins with the Paddle Hunt - your first clue will be released at 9 a.m. July 9. On Tuesday night, the baked beans are buried in the ground. And on Wednesday, the celebration culminates with the raising of the beans, a Queen and King Bean Coronation, an arts and crafts fair, food market, children's games, and of course, lunch! Entertainment will be provided Wednesday by Paul Imholte, Musical Stringman.
July 9-11 Paddle Hunt:
Paul Bunyan's Paddle Hunt - Paul Bunyan's paddle needs to be found before the beans are raised on Wednesday, July 11, so he can stir the beans! One clue will be released at 9 a.m. each day, July 9-11, on this page. Watch for details.
Heading East to the rising sun, the 2012 Bean Hole Days will be a historic one.
Paul?s paddle is hidden at just his right height, ready to stir the beans with all his might.
Rest assured Paul's Paddle has been found:
This years paddle was hidden at the mouth of the fire tower along the back side of the trail map and was found by Rod Nelson.

The beans, prepared from Paul Bunyan?s secret recipe behind locked doors, are buried in five huge cast iron kettles and cooked over a wood fire during the night. Join us for this special ceremony! The largest kettle, THOR, is on display by the Pequot Lakes Chamber building.
