Description
The theme of The Legacy Chorale’s Spring 2020 concert series is taken from the title of a hymn arrangement of the same name by Matthew Culloton, How Can I Keep from Singing? The hymn text speaks directly to the power of music – and especially music that is sung: “My life flows on in endless song…It finds an echo in my soul–How can I keep from singing?” In addition to the title piece, the program will include other famous songs about singing: Sing, an energetic and joyful celebration of vocal music by Pentatonix; Sing, Sing a Song by The Carpenters; Sing Out, made famous by Celtic Woman; the spirited Music Down in My Soul by Moses Hogan; We Are the World 25 for Haiti, a remix of the Michael Jackson/Lionel Richie hit from 1986; and many more, including folk songs, Broadway favorites, and a little jazz! Also included on the program will be a Children’s Chorus comprised of elementary singers from the Brainerd and Pequot Lakes School Districts!
