"It's a Grand Night for Singing" - Deerwood

Legacy Chorale of Greater Minnesota presents “It’s a Grand Night for Singing,” featuring the Legacy Chorale and Legacy Youth Chorale. The Legacy Chorale, under the direction of Michael Smith, is a sixty-five member auditioned adult choir. Legacy Youth Chorale, led by founding director Kennedy Niska, is a fifty-five member auditioned choir of young people between the ages of 8 and 12. In total, this concert series will involve 120 local musicians from 18 area communities. 


The program will run approximately 75 minutes and begin with a set of music by composer Eric Whitacre, performed by members of the Legacy Chorale. Legacy Youth Chorale will take to the stage to present songs from popular musicals before Legacy Chorale members conclude the concert with a medley of Broadway classics.

  • Friday, April 14 at 7 p.m. at Crosslake Lutheran Church, Crosslake 
  • Saturday, April 15 at 7 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, Deerwood 
  • Sunday, April 16 at 3 p.m. at Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts, Brainerd


There is no charge for admission; however, ticket reservations are highly encouraged as seating is limited at each venue. Visit legacychorale.org/events to reserve free general admission tickets. The April 16 concert in Brainerd will be livestreamed and include ASL interpretation.
