Pequot Lakes Breezy Points Lions 13th Annual Chokecherry Festival

Saturday, August 1, 2020 (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

The Chokecherry Culinary Contest starts at Noon. Enter for your chance to win. The only rule is that chokecherries MUST be included in the recipe. You may enter in more than one category and all entries MUST be received by 11:30am.

Kid's arcade area features a wide variety of reasonably-priced kid's games, something for all sizes including Plinko, Bean Bag Toss, tugboats, fishpond, and more with prizes for the kids to win!

There's an Arts/Craft Festival all day featuring vendors to satisfy the most prudent shopper. Enjoy looking over a variety of one-of-a-kind items and local artists. Food vendors will be available to take care of that hunger craving at any time throughout the day including the Pequot Lakes/Breezy Point Lions Club’s almost famous Shish-ka-Bobbers. If you haven't tried them yet, you're missing out!

Another family favorite is the Back Seat Driver game. The perfect game for that guy/gal that loves to drive the tractor around the yard - slightly more challenging due the the fact that they're blindfolded. He/she will have you to guide them through the challenge course though - fastest time with the fewest mistakes takes the prize. Many have tried, few have succeeded...

Or maybe you'd like to try pit-spitting?  A tricky contest because you first have to get to the pit. Amazing results in year's past! The record is over 30 feet - Can you beat that?

There's going to be new amazing food at the Festival this year as well as some of your returning favorites. Don't forget to get your almost famous Shish-ka-bobbers. It will be the last time this year you will be able to get yourself some! Otherwise you will have to wait until June of next year...and that's a very long time...

We will again have Chokecherry T-shirts available for purchase!Even if I do say so myself, they look awesome!

Did you know that Pequot Lakes is  the “Official” Chokecherry Capital of Minnesota? The City filed the proclamation on June 1st, 2010 and that makes it “Official!” (You can go to http://www.pequotlakes-mn.gov/ to see a copy.

Can't wait to see you there!
