About the role:

Serves as a key technical resource responsible for advancing a strong safety and environmental compliance culture across the site. This role identifies hazards, implements effective controls, and leads initiatives that reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance. The specialist partners closely with site leadership and cross functional teams to drive engagement, training, and performance excellence in all EHS programs. They play a critical role in protecting employees, the environment, and the broader organization while supporting operational goals of the location.

  • EHS Culture, Engagement & Capability
    • Champion a proactive EHS culture by engaging employees at all levels, fostering ownership of safe behaviors, and promoting open communication around safety and environmental stewardship.
    • Develop and deliver impactful training, resources, and tools that build EHS capability, reinforce positive behaviors, and support ongoing culture growth.
  • Operational Partnership & Program Effectiveness
    • Partner closely with site teams and leadership to support day‑to‑day EHS needs, provide coaching, and strengthen alignment between operational priorities and EHS expectations.
    • Lead site initiatives that enhance safety performance proactively, environmental sustainability practices, and overall EHS program effectiveness.
    • Conduct routine assessments, observations, and data reviews to identify improvement opportunities and support teams in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
    • Collaborate across functions to embed EHS considerations into planning, projects, and daily operations, promoting a site‑wide mindset of risk reduction.
  • Compliance, Incident Management & Risk Reduction
    • Maintain compliance by managing regulatory obligations, permits, and required documentation while ensuring accurate reporting and timely submission of safety requirements.
    • Support incident investigations by partnering with correct individuals guiding root‑cause analysis, facilitating learning discussions, and ensuring corrective actions strengthen both compliance and culture.
    • Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices.
    • Other Duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Associate’s degree, or equivalent related experience, in EHS, sustainability management, environmental studies, construction management, engineering, or other related disciplines.

  • Experience and/or Training: At least 3 years of experience as safety or environmental and sustainability leader, or similar role. Strong understanding of OSHA Standards (federal and state). Excellent leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Physical and Mental Demands: Some travel required – visiting other Lexington locations. Wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all required at appropriate times.
